We gather at two principal locations: One is Altamont, New York and the other is Lothian, MD. Who comes to the gatherings? Everyone and anyone is invited, and always welcome. Some are Christians, some are from different backgrounds. Some are scientists, professional people of different types. Some are young people, most are just ordinary people who come because they are looking for a deeper reason for living than what they have been accustomed to.
The gatherings center around Jesus as an historical person whose philosophy and way of life has been an inspiration to millions for many centuries. The gatherings are not convert classes, they are studies into the mind of Jesus and his relevance to the difficult times in which we live. As one atheist president of an African country said at a talk to other African leaders,
"Although I am an atheist and have no religion, our only hope for peace is this world is by following the philosophy and way of life of Jesus. His life is relevant to all of us, no matter what our beliefs. His teachings make sense in our troubled world."
Our gatherings try to take the life and teachings of Jesus and discuss them in an attempt to understand their relevance in our own personal lives and in the life of our community, our local community and our world community. It is our attempt to make our little contribution to change the world, and prepare the world for peace and harmony among people of every nation and race.
